After much thought and consideration, the Embry Hills United Methodist Church Administrative Council has upheld the recommendation of the church’s Re-Gathering Team and determined that our school will remain closed for the fall 2020 semester.
While this was a difficult decision to make, when we thought about the scope of protecting the lives of teachers, students and their families, it was the right choice. Our hope is that the country, our county, and specifically this community, sees a marked recession in COVID activity – to the extent we feel opening the school second semester is a safe option. We will evaluate that possibility mid-to-late October.
Pre-K and Kindergarten parents, please know we are especially sensitive to your student’s academic needs and the timeliness of certain milestones. We will be working to tailor the curriculum of our second semester to include as many critical components as possible. In preparation and anticipation of our return in January, the teachers of Pre-K, Kindergarten, and three-year-old classes are working to compile monthly distance learning goals and activities for registered students. We want to support and stay connected with you!
We absolutely recognize and cherish the significance of the one and two-year-old classes and will work on a list of touchpoints and book suggestions for those students as well.
There is wonderful value in the preschool experience. We sincerely hope that we are able to come together in January and start the new year with friends we miss in a place we love! Thank you for your patience. Please reach out to us anytime and look for updates as we move forward.
